This Cookie Policy explains how Memories Made in Motion ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on memoriesmotion.co.za. It should be read together with our Privacy & POPIA Notice.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember preferences and gather analytics about how the site is used. Similar technologies such as localStorage and pixels work in much the same way.
Categories we use
- Strictly necessary (always on)
- Required for the site to function: routing, security, form submissions, remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.
- First-party page counts (always on)
- We count page views ourselves without setting a cookie of our own: a random session ID lives in your browser tab only (
sessionStorage), and your IP address is used transiently to look up an approximate country and city through a geolocation provider — we do not store your IP address with the page-view record. This is necessary for us to run and secure the site, and we keep these records for no longer than 12 months. - Hosting platform (strictly necessary)
- Our hosting platform sets a small number of cookies automatically to operate and secure the service; they are not used by MMIM for marketing. They are listed in the table below.
- Analytics (optional)
- Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Examples include Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager and PostHog. Loaded only after you accept this category, and removed again if you switch it off.
- Marketing (optional)
- Used to measure campaign effectiveness and show relevant content on third-party platforms. Examples include the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. Loaded only after you accept this category.

How we store your choice
Your consent is saved in your browser using a first-party cookie (mmim_consent) and localStorage. We keep your preference for up to 180 days, after which we will ask you again.
Changing or withdrawing consent
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the footer. Switching a category off is immediate and effective: we instruct the provider to stop collecting, delete the cookies it has already set, and reload the page so nothing further is sent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already lawfully took place before you withdrew.
